Remember

We come to this plane of existence in full remembrance of who and what we are, but we quickly learn to forget, and cling to the false reality of this place. Each month, I offer a reminder of the ever enduring Spirit that is YOU!

Your Life Is A House

June 1, 2015 @ 11:55 am

Your life is like a house you begin building the moment you arrive in this place.

Some spend most or all their time here planning their house, designing and re-designing their house. But, no structure really ever gets built. All they really have are countless plans, drawings and sketches of their house (life). They live in the dream of what will be, but never take all the steps necessary to build “the dream”.

Some spend most or all their time here gathering materials for their house that is yet to be planned or designed, with not even a foundation. They gather many materials that look attractive to them ranging from structural to furnishing, working from no plan or design. All they really have is an eclectic collection of building supplies and furnishings and no structure to contain them. Focused entirely on the possibilities of the each individual material and not the house (life) they want to build.

Many spend all their time carried away with building. They build room after room after room constantly expanding their house but taking no time to live in the rooms they build. Every moment is spent building, designing, and staging the rooms of their house, but they never really dwell anywhere in their house. All they have is a beautiful house that no one ever lives in. They become focused entirely on the structure and what everyone else will see, and the legacy of the structure they will leave behind.

Few balance their time here evenly. Carefully designing, planning, building and living. Savoring each moment spent planning, designing, building, furnishing and living in each room of their house.

What they really have is a house that is not that big, not very extravagant, meticulously built, homey, cozy and is well lived in.

They are not focused on just the planning, the structure, the actual rooms or living in them. Instead, they are focused on the entire process of passing through this place savoring each moment in the process of building and living a life.

Your Life – What structure have you built? – What do you really have?
