Success: the accomplishment of an aim or purpose, or the attainment of popularity or profit.
Do you want to be successful or be happy?
Success does NOT = Happiness.
Success is simply the accomplishment of a goal or aim. You can achieve your goal or aim and still not be happy. You can attain popularity or profit and still not be happy. Yet, many equate success with happiness. Countless books, programs and articles are written analyzing the wealthy and their actions as a road map to success (happiness). But, from observation, a huge percentage of the wealthy are chronically unhappy. How then can they be icons for happiness?
The path to achieving a goal or aim, or profit, is a very winding one and laden with many obstacles to overcome. And, at the end lies only possible success or achievement NOT happiness.
Happiness is the guest you have to bring along for the ride to success, your “sidekick”, riding “shotgun”. 
Happiness arrives with you at the point of success if you bring it along. You will not find it waiting for you at the pinnacle of success. Happiness enhances your experience of success, it is not the result of success.
