Remember

We come to this plane of existence in full remembrance of who and what we are, but we quickly learn to forget, and cling to the false reality of this place. Each month, I offer a reminder of the ever enduring Spirit that is YOU!

SCHIZOPHRENIA

Definition:
Schizophrenia is a mental disorder characterized by a breakdown of thought processes and by poor emotional responsiveness. It most commonly manifests itself as auditory or visual hallucinations, paranoid or bizarre delusions, or disorganized speech and thinking, and it is accompanied by significant social or occupational dysfunction. Diagnosis is based on observed behavior and the patient’s reported experiences.

Reality is the actual events, circumstances or facts that occur…not how we interpret these events and circumstances. It is simply the facts, and nothing else. It is not our interpretation of the facts.
Our interpretation of what happens is based on our judgments, which creates our personal “story”. It is this story that we tend confuse with reality.

Do you process emotionally and mentally what is really taking place in your life, or do you process what you “think” or “feel” is happening based on a belief?…a belief you hold about yourself and the world around you.
“Beliefs” are based on and supported by judgments. These can be audio or visual hallucinations, and even paranoid or bizarre delusions. All beliefs or judgments are not true because they are based on specific interpretations of reality.  These “beliefs” can cause great dysfunction personally, socially, or occupationally.
Understand that the way you see and hear things is simply your interpretation of things, not necessarily the way things really are. You will have to step outside your beliefs to see reality.
Some may sit in judgment of someone afflicted with schizophrenia, but is your experience of life so different than theirs? Or is your “condition” just a little more manageable?

Remember… the closer you get to truly seeing yourself in EVERYONE, the closer you are to seeing reality.
