Remember

We come to this plane of existence in full remembrance of who and what we are, but we quickly learn to forget, and cling to the false reality of this place. Each month, I offer a reminder of the ever enduring Spirit that is YOU!

Remembers for

Living Separately

July 4, 2007 @ 2:16 pm

As we view the narrow halls of the labyrinth of our “small world” with a fleeting glance, nothing else exists. Nothing exists except our perpetual routine of sensation, emotions, feelings, thoughts, and actions. The experience of all others becomes removed from ours and our view of them, their situations, or experiences becomes very narrow and completely unrelated to ours.

We move quickly to deal out judgments or death without realizing that while we are creating the emotions, thoughts and actions associated with our judgments, the same is being created for us.

That which we create for others will simultaneously be created for us…we hang from the same gallows we create for others.

Why is it I am unable to fully see the plight of another until the same fate befalls me?

Why is it I am quick to deal out judgments or death to others until I am the one facing judgment or death?

Why is it that I don’t see that pain is pain no matter what the circumstances…that the pain of another is felt just as deeply as my pain?

Why is it I seek to measure pain by story or circumstance?

Why am I content to be in the presence of pain as long as I am not experiencing it at the moment?

Why?

To ensure that I attempt to live separately…

So that I don’t see my reflection in the faces of others…

So that I almost never see them as me.

I can thus live in direct opposition to the “Universal Law of Structure”: Everything exists in direct connection with everything else, therefore nothing can exist separate from all there is.

When we attempt to Live Separately we eventually create pain for ourselves.
