A Remember For Parents
Remember
Children are loaned to you only for a season, for you to protect and offer them a gift, the benefit of your experience. As with all gifts it is the child’s choice whether to accept or reject this gift.
Remember
Children are not a means to relive your past, for each child’s life belongs to them and only them.
Remember
Your experience is not their experience, and your life choice is not their life choice.
Remember
As you teach children to talk and walk, you must also teach them to walk away.
Remember
As you give to your children, you must also give to yourself.
Remember
If you demand respect, you must also give respect.
Remember
As you try to master the “parent-child” relationship you must later master the “parent-adult” relationship.
Remember
The greatest show of love is to watch your child make mistakes, and allow them to be responsible for their own choices and experience.
Remember
If you are willing to learn, children will teach you more about yourself than any school.
