Nisfu Sha'ban
a Muslim festival, celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth month, Shaban of the Islamic lunar calendar. This year, this festival's date corresponds to October 22 of the Gregorian Calendar. Muslims believe that on this day, God decides who will be born, who will die and how much provision is set aside for each person in the coming year. Divine Planning for a new Divine Fiscal Year is done and accordingly, Angels are instructed to carry out their duties for the next 12 months.

Jalal al-Din Rumi - Birthday
Jalal al-Din Rumi (1207-1273), known to his disciples as Maulana Rumi, "Our Master, the Byzantine", was born in Balkh, Ghurid empire (now in Afghanistan). The greatest mystical poet of Persia, famous for his didactic epic Masnavi-ye Ma'navi (Spiritual Couplets), a treasure-house of Sufi mysticism. The theme of Rumi's ghazals is sacred love. After Rumi's death his disciples were organized as the Mawlawiyah order, called in the West the "Whirling Dervishes".
